Contrary to popular belief, beetroot and garlic doesn’t cure HIV/AIDS. The disease is incurable and what makes it so dangerous is that it can be spread sexually. This is a major problem as billions of people have no assess to preventative measures such as condoms and anti-retroviral drugs. Education is the key to promoting a safer sex life, especially the youth who often have a “it will never happen to me’ attitude when regarding the disease.World Aids day isn’t just about educating society about prevention it’s also about acceptance and understanding of those affected. Stigma and discrimination associated with HIV and AIDS are among the greatest barriers to preventing further infections, providing adequate care, and alleviating suffering. The stigma surrounding sex, sexuality, and intravenous drug use has prevented millions from receiving information about HIV, how it is transmitted, and how to protect themselves.
