I attended the Miss Lux Smooth Skin award dinner last night, held at the Pivot Conference Centre at Montecasino. The night marked the crowning of the lucky lady who walked away with a cash price of R 50 000, a R10 000 educational bursuary, R5 000 clothing voucher from Truworths and the Ultimate title of being crowned Miss Lux 2012.

The six finalitst looked beautiful as they waited in anticipation to find out which one of them were to be crowned. The evening was filled with guests and well known media personalities such as, Former Miss South Africa 2010 Bokang Montjane, Former miss Lux Gerry Ranseli Elsdon, Lux ambassador Sonia Sedibe and a surprising appearance by the legendary” Baby Jake” Matlala.The evening was filled with glitz and glam and all things fabulous.The anticipated moment arrived and 19 year old, Amanda Jingele was crowned Miss Lux 2012, the second runner up place went to Thandolwethu Tsekiso, with the first runner up position going to Aphelele Dladla.

During the 1940′s and 1950′s Lux became associated with the stars of Hollywood with memorable stars such as Ava Gardener, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophian Loren, Bridgit Bardot endorsing LUX soap. Today LUX still attracts women who love being women. They enjoy the rituals of beauty care and they appreciate being appreciated.
